It´s definitely a milestone reaching the mark of 100 episodes. At the beginning it wasn´t even clear if it would last that long and now cannot even tell when it ends...
After two movie retellings, the Universe 6 arc, the Copy Vegeta filler, the Future Trunks arc and some interesting filler episodes we are currently in the Universe Survival arc and the tournament just started with episode 97. It´s completely unknown in which direction this arc is going since the fate of all the universes is at stake. One of them had already been erased.
But this arc has something for everyone: It gives Tien, Roshi and Kuririn some time to shine, the android #17 and #18 participate, we got more Saiyans from Universe 6 (even Super Saiyans), all the angels, Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kai from the other universes, many new characters and... not to forget: Frieza.
He could also be an interesting factor about the time past the arc: Will he eventually win or getting revived? Having some collaboration with Frost in Universe 6 to create a new empire? Or go even further? Becoming a God of Destruction?
The other universes are quite interesting on its own for several further subplots, just looking at the 6th and 11th universe. Could the next story finally send the Z fighters to other universes? Vegeta visiting Planet Sadal? And what about the Universe 6 Namekians?
So many open things which makes me believe that the story could easily go much further - even with staying in the current time-slot of Dragon Ball age.
The ending of the Future Trunks arc in both anime and manga doesn´t seem that this was the last we saw Vegetas son from another timeline. The fact that both him and Mai exist twice in there new-created timeline can lead to something in the future. Toriyama did not do that without having an idea behind... Although it´s Toriyama.. Quite likely he has no plan yet.
Anyway the return of Future Trunks with the enemy Goku Black brought many fans back and it truly helped the reputation of the new Dragon Ball anime TV series.
Nozawa even wants to reach 700 episodes... sounds quite crazy looking at her age. But Dragon Ball Super is running well right now, was once even better than One Piece in terms of viewers, so let´s see what the future brings.
We are already way past GT with 64 episodes, the next benchmark would be going past the 153 episodes of the first original DB series which I see quite likely to happen...

Why the the build-up to the Universe Survival arc is just great
Warm-up matches against Universe 9, the birth of Bulla and recruiting other members for the teams of the Universe Survival Tournament. 12 great episodes already and the tournament hasn't even started!
Personally, I love these episodes. First, Goku initiated the whole thing by going to Zeno requesting about the tournament. Bringing Buu and Gohan back for fighting in testing matches against Universe 9 was really great to see again, since both did not participate in the Universe 6 tournament.
Vegeta staying out of these matches for the birth of his daughter was just another great plot of character development. Vegeta is surely a character who changed since his sacrifice against Buu which he now especially see in Super.
The introduction of the other Gods of Destructions, their angels and the Kaioshins was also quite interesting. Let's see what their role in this arc is going to be. They seems to build an opposition against Universe 7 since it's Goku's fault we get this tournament.
But especially the recruiting of the other members of the Universe 7 team is great stuff: Piccolo and Gohan training together unleashing Ultimate Gohan again, Fat Buu trains to be slim, Goku against Kuririn and Android 18, the return of Android 17. So many interesting plot points and throwbacks.
And it's not just about the teams of Universe 7. Universe 11 has the Pride Troopers, which one of them looks like Beerus and they all seem really strong. And also: The "Female Broly" finally appeared! Cauliflowa is her name. And we saw Cabba trying to recruite her brother for the tournament, but he suggested to take his sister instead.
You see, there are a lot of things going on and looking at the next weeks preview we see Tenshinhan and Muten Roshi back in action! Already hyped to see that!

Only 28 planets with mortals in Universe 7? - What?
It was a quite surprising revelation by the Kaioshin in the recent Episode 83 of Dragon Ball Super. In Universe 7 are apparently only 28 planets with mortal beings. I think that's hardly even possible...
Let's take a look back at the Frieza saga where we had lots of different races 'employed' as soldiers of the emperor Frieza. At least 79 planets were under Friezas control. The minions of Freeza - also the Saiyans - were sent on missions for decades in order to extinct the inhabitants of other planets to sell the place later on.
Therefore, of course, many races died of course but it's not like the Frieza army ran out of work. I mean we are talking about the whole Universe 7 here. It sounds even way too less for a galaxy. Of course also Buu and Beerus were responsible for destroying entire planets and civilizations, but on the other hand the Kaioshin is responsible for the creation of new worlds - it seems like he failed in doing just that.
Or is it that the young Kaioshin doesn't know better? He was wrong and did not know things so many times. Like being unaware about the strength of the Saiyans, the by Babidi moved location of the 'egg' of Majin Buu, the Potara fusion or even recently the existence of Zen-Oh.
He is still a young Kai but these examples makes me believe that he is also wrong this time. He even went checking for other strong fighters for the tournament.
The whole situation sounds fishy and I hope we get more clarification for this topic. Maybe he overlooked something.
Also, if we would include 'Dragon Ball GT' - if that's even possible, but that's another topic - we get to know way more planets like Imegga, M2 and so on. You can say about the third Dragon Ball series what you want, but it gives a great view about the universe. Something which started at the Saiyan arc back in DBZ where we got the first information about what's out there in outer space.
If Super's interpretation is that Universe 7 only has 28 planets with mortals sounds for like: "Don't make it too big, we have 11 other universes." Anyway, these are my first thoughts after that revelation, also check out the video. Hopefully we will know more very soon.
